Dr. Barbara Vaughan PT, DPT, TPICGFI

Dr. Barbara Vaughan is an honors graduate of Emory University School of Medicine with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Special Electives in Advanced Pediatrics and Advanced Orthopedics. She additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from The College of William and Mary.

Prior to founding Fit Core Physical Therapy, Barbara worked as a physical therapist at The Sports Rehabilitation Center from 2004-2008, with a focus on sports-related injuries.  From 2008-2013, Dr. Vaughan was a physical therapist at One On One Physical Therapy, treating exclusively one patient per hour, and worked successfully with a wide variety of clients, ranging from young college athletes to middle-aged business professionals to retired senior citizens.  It is during this period at One On One that Barbara’s evaluative, assessment, and manual treatment skills flourished. In 2015, Dr. Vaughan decided launched her own practice, Fit Core Physical Therapy.  She has come to develop a true appreciation for one-on-one care and believes in the importance of strong patient-therapist bonds.  Barbara also believes in treating each individual as a whole, not just a body part. From a musculoskeletal standpoint, she approaches each patient by examining the entire body and assessing how the injury relates to the rest of the body. She also feels it is important to consider and address injuries according to the patient’s emotional and psychosocial well-being, as each can have a significant impact on physical health.

Dr. Vaughan is trained in Redcord Neurac, and is a PMA Pilates Certified Teacher and Polestar trained Pilates Instructor. She is qualified to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling, and has been trained in the Osteopathic approach to manual therapy for spine, ribs, and extremities via Michigan State University .  She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopedic Section, and a member of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. She continues professional education with advanced coursework, research, and The American Physical Therapy Association conferences. Barbara is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor. Having this certification, Barbara is able to perform golf specific functional movement screens, in order to assess areas of limitation or dysfunction that might impair an individual’s golf swing mechanics. She is also certified in examining an individual’s golf swing and determining specific swing characteristics that might put an individual at risk for musculoskeletal injury. Dr. Vaughan truly enjoys working closely with golf pros in order to collaboratively maximize a client’s golf swing potential with minimal risk for injury.

Barbara was born in Sicily to an American diplomatic family and grew up in various locations overseas; she is fluent in Italian and French, and also familiar with Arabic and Spanish. Barbara is married to Woody Vaughan and they have a daughter, Aurelia, and a son, Luca. Barbara loves outdoor activities, including running, mountain biking, rollerblading, and hiking. She also enjoys playing golf, tennis, volleyball and scuba diving.

Dr. Amanda Gustin PT, DPT

Dr. Amanda Gustin is a graduate of Mercer University College of Health Professions with a doctorate in Physical Therapy and clinical education focusing on Orthopedics, Pelvic Health and Sports Medicine. She additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics/Nutrition Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Marketing from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining Dr. Vaughan at Fit Core Physical Therapy, Dr. Gustin worked as a physical therapist at BODY-N-BALANCE, a private practice where she had the privilege of treating one patient per hour. While working at BODY-N-BALANCE, Dr. Gustin completed a 13-month Orthopedic Residency through Mercer University, which allowed her to advance and develop her Clinical Reasoning skills and manual therapy techniques. Dr. Gustin gained experience treating a wide variety of clients, ranging from adolescents through older adults. However, while working closely with a local pre-professional dance studio, she developed a passion for sports medicine, with an emphasis on adolescent dance medicine and the special considerations needed for the growing and developing athlete.

During her time at BODY-N-BALANCE, Dr. Gustin developed a deep appreciation for one-on-one, patient-centered care and the ability to treat the whole person, including the emotional and psychosocial components of pain, injury or time away from work/sport. Dr. Gustin has completed advanced training in the Pilates Method through the Physical Mind Institute and in The Gyrotonic Expansion System. She maintains professional memberships in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and The Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG). She is also a member of the Orthopedic Section and the Sports Physical Therapy Sections of the APTA. In 2016, Dr. Gustin joined the board of directors for the Georgia Foundation for Physical Therapy, which offers grants to encourage the completion and dissemination of research advancing the physical therapy profession and scholarships to provide financial assistance to PT and PTA students who demonstrate superior capabilities and the potential to significantly contribute to the growth of the Physical Therapy profession. Dr. Gustin is also an active board member for the Eating Disorder Information Network (EDIN), a non-profit organization committed to preventing eating disorders through education, outreach and action. Dr. Gustin grew up in the greater Atlanta area and attended Wesleyan School, in Peachtree Corners, for middle and high school. In her free time, Dr. Gustin enjoys running in her neighborhood of Virginia Highlands, and playing with her dog, Misty, at Piedmont Park. She also has a passion for cooking and enjoys eating her way through Atlanta’s restaurants.

Dr. Jordan Huey PT, DPT

Dr. Jordan Huey Garcia graduated from Mercer University College of Health Professions in 2014 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Florida in 2011.  Jordan has been practicing physical therapy for seven years, primarily in the outpatient orthopedic setting.   Jordan believes in a holistic approach to patient care, incorporating each patient’s goals and values into their respective individualized treatment.  She specializes in treating patients with general orthopedic injuries, persistent pain dysfunction, TMJ disorders, and balance dysfunction.  Additionally, Jordan specializes in treating men and women with pelvic floor dysfunction such as pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, urinary or fecal incontinence, constipation, issues post prostatectomy, and peripartum women.

In addition to her areas of specialization, Jordan enjoys taking continuing education courses that help build her skill set and knowledge base on sports medicine, chronic and complex pain, and clinical aromatherapy.

A Pensacola, Florida native, Jordan loves any chance to visit family in her home state with her husband and young son.  As a family, they enjoy time spent outdoors hiking and camping in North GA, at the beaches in Florida, or on the Chattahoochee River near their home in Alpharetta.  Jordan also enjoys music and attending concerts with her husband and friends.  Together, she and her husband also own and operate a local Italian restaurant where passion for family tradition and good food is celebrated.

Dr. Adria Wofford PT, DPT,

Dr. Adria Wofford graduated from Mercer University College of Health Professions with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and clinical education focusing on Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia State University. Adria is a Physical Therapist member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. Prior to pursuing her own physical therapy career, Adria was fortunate to get to collaborate with many area Physical Therapists to help bridge the gap between rehabilitation and exercise using Pilates and Redcord. She also danced for 11 years professionally with The Georgia Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, and Nevada Ballet Theatre. Adria is passionate about helping patients return to the activities they love and believes every patient deserves an improved movement experience regardless of their size. Adria enjoys adding skills to her repertoire through continuing education to help her specialize in unresolved pain, pelvic health and sports medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing, circus arts, making paper crafts, and laying on the rug with her beagle, Carter, while her husband, Ryan, spins records.

Dr. Brie Levy is a physical therapist and orthopedic clinical specialist. A Florida native, she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science. Brie moved to Atlanta and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Mercer University in 2016 and went on to complete a 13 month Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at Mercer in 2018 where she trained with Herb Silver in Buckhead. In 2019 Brie and her husband relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where she provided physical therapy for The Joffrey Ballet.  Brie considers herself a “jack of all trades”, with special interest in chronic pain, hypermobility/ EDS, vestibular rehabilitation, and pelvic floor physical therapy. In her free time, Brie enjoys going to the gym, playing guitar, singing, and enjoying everything Atlanta has to offer with her husband, Joe, and her sisters. Brie has a strong belief that the mind and body function as a single system and deeply appreciates the need to treat the entire person, not just the injury at hand. Making patients feel comfortable, understood, and empowered to move better is her goal.

Kristen Lantta is a graduate of Michigan State University where she earned a business degree with high honors in Supply Chain Management.  A certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Kristen previously worked at several hospitals across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast for one of the largest medical and pharmaceutical distributors in the country.  Kristen lives in Smyrna with her family and enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring the outdoors.
